Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As much as I want to jump up and down that we have a new, worthy president I am overwhelmingly heavy hearted that California has decided to be intolerant and vote yes on 8. What a bittersweet night. Wonderful new president and homophobia.

826 Stores

To raise funds, inspire creativity, and advertise our programs to the local community, most of our centers include a street-front retail store filled with unusual products, entertaining signage, and, of course, our books for sale. San Francisco’s pirate supply store sells glass eyes and one-of-a-kind peglegs, 826NYC’s Superhero Supply Company offers custom-fit capes, Seattle’s Greenwood Space Travel Supply Company sells “rare imports from other planets,” 826 Michigan's Monsters Union Local specializes in bottling screams, 826LA features a time travel store, there's a secret agent supply store in Chicago, and a Cryptozoology shop in Boston is in the works!

What happens at the Pirate Store?

Many have said that upon entering the best pirate supply store in San Francisco, they get a sensation of déjà vu. Others walk in and feel at once the miracle work of an unseen hand. Yet there are those whose eyes bulge and shrink simultaneously while their thoughts are so convoluted that they are unable to shout or mutter the question that most plagues them: “What is this place?”

For Sale: Hooks, flags, and message bottles; rat traps, peg legs, and pirate perfume; wax seals, dice, and lard (for bartering, not sale).

24 years! [07 May 2008|10:12am]
[ mood | annoyed ]

"Fritzl, 73 claimed that media coverage was “unfair” and “entirely one-dimensional”, given the fact that he did not kill his daughter and the children he produced with her during 24 years of sexual abuse in a subterranean bunker in Amstetten. “I am no monster,” Fritzl said though his lawyer Rudolf Mayer, according to the German tabloid newspaper Bild. “I could have killed all of them, and no one would have known. No one would have ever found about it.”

are you fucking kidding me! he thinks its unfair that people think he's a monster??? what an awful awful man

lions [30 Mar 2008|09:27am]
My charity event went off well. I raised about $4,000 on top of the money the club raised. I got 3 offers from other organizations to do their donations. Maybe this is my soon to be job?? We will see. Finding companies that do in-kind is a stressful but a fun challenge.

If you know of a buisness that does in-kind, let me know, I have to organize something for September.

painful [13 Feb 2008|10:36pm]
[ mood | sad ]

"A 15-year-old boy shot in the back of his head by a classmate Tuesday was declared brain dead Wednesday his body remaining maintained on a ventilator for possible organ donation, the medical examiner’ s office said.

The victim, identified as Lawrence King by Oxnard police, was shot Tuesday during a computer lab at E.O. Green Junior High and died at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Oxnard police spokesman David Keith said, according to the Associated Press.

Police arrested a 14-year-old suspect who fled immediately after the shooting, which occurred around 8:15 a.m. The boy was found a few blocks from the school soon after the shooting, Keith said.

More than 20 other students were in the class at the moment of the scene, but none of them were injured.

Investigators said there seemed to be something bad going on between the two boys.

“It appears to be kind of a personal thing between these two students. Some kind of beef,” Keith said.

The school where the incident happened is in Ventura County, northwest of Los Angeles. It was placed on lockdown for several hours while authorities tried to ensure that everything was safe. About three-quarters of the school’s 1,150 students body showed up for school the second day. Psychologists held counseling sessions to help students go through the unfortunate event"

I couldnt imagine my baby being brain dead and used for his organs because he got into an argument with another kid whos parents had a gun.
